That being said, what you are looking for is an increase of at least 1/2 a degree from the first half of your cycle. I'd say the initial jump, combined with a positive OPK, is a great indicator of ovulation. An occasional drop in the last half is pretty normal, I think, at least for me. Which is one reason I stopped temping. I'd get so down on those days and I felt like I was living from one morning to the next.
There are also a lot of factors that affect your BBT - no blankets could definitely have an affect, as well as being sick or not sleeping well.
