UGH! Im watching the news right now and they just showed a story on a newborn baby, less than 5 lbs, left in a cardboard box out with the garbage. It just BLOWS MY MIND how people can be so different. All of us spending thousands of dollars, injecting ourselves with all kinds of stuff, doing ANYTHING for a baby, and someone else sees that same baby as trash. It makes me wish i was the one to find her, i just wish i could have her and raise her with love. if only it was that easy. imagine finding out that your mother once put you in the trash??! and get this: they ended the story asking people who might know something to contact them so they can find the mother and reunite them! REUNITE THEM?! Are you freaking kidding me people?! the woman threw the baby in the trash, she is obviously not safe with her! whats next, she kills her?? how about make the goal to find a woman who WANTS a baby and ask her to raise her! Just plain ridiculous.

i'm sure they are looking for the mother to press criminal charges and sometimes the media manipulates headlines to trick the criminal into turning themselves in and they were probably thinking she might be regretting her decision and want to reunite with the child. and it would also make people more willing to turn her in if they thought she wasn't in trouble.

but yes, that is very upsetting and with all the recent headlines about toddlers being murdered and stuff, its just awful and i can't understand. it makes me so very sad and mad. but that brings up all the other unanswerable questions. :/

That is so horrible, but unfortunately things like this are all around us, which makes our struggles even harder. We all know we will be wonderful loving mothers and all we can do is keep remembering that.

The mother needs to go to jail. For attempted murder, neglect, and child endangerment. Man I wish I could prosecute her. Her parental rights need to be terminated. The child should go into the system and adopted out to a family that deserves to have a the child to love.

I am going through the same thing. my husband and I won custody of his daughter who is 5 due to abuse. She was only 1 and a half when her mother broke both arms and a leg and almost starved her to death. But she didn't go to jail and still is supposed to get visitation. I don't get it. Plus she just had another baby that is 6 months and is pregnant again. Why can she keep having children she can't provide for and could harm again and I can't. What is wrong with this system?!!!
