You know, infertility is only a problem if the person makes it one. There are plenty of other rewarding tracks in life that don't involve extending one's DNA to another sentient being -- and if people still feel the need to be parents, there are plenty of orphans in dire need of a good home.

(Plenty of orphaned animals too. And there's always Adopt a Highway!)

Our planet's resources (not to mention our country's economy) simply cannot support the number of offspring we put forth at this rate. Not healthily, anyway, which is one of the reasons we have so much artificial food, so many welfare organizations, food stamps, government agencies -- because it's all too much, as clutter expert Peter Walsh would say (though I'm not sure if he's childfree). Basically, however, the same idea applies: we are hoarding and cluttering our earth and our country with another form of TMI -- too many individuals.

As for organizations to "support the cause," well, I have to say I'm all for supporting infertility. I'm about to write a journal post with some of the links, and will most likely reply back here with more. Not everyone is St. Angelina (*gag*), and in fact, I personally doubt she cares any more about those kids than if they were pocketbooks or even boyfriends from 80 different countries. Next she'll dump Brad, marry Bono, and adopt a pair of Ray-Bans to block out the Sahara heat. But I digress. See next post for some orgs/sites/causes I "support" for the cause of Infertility.

The programs are usually offered/approved by the state's DOT rather than the national/Federal one. Not sure if there's anything similar in the UK, Canada, or elsewhere around the world; feel free to add if you know!

Yea I think she is confused Tammy! Sounds like just another person who doesn't understand what its like to not be able to have a child of her own! To watch all your friends and loved ones have children, while We have to sit there and smile and pretend to be happy for them, although we r so sad inside cause we want to know when will Not be our turn? To literally cry ourselves to sleep at night, pleading and begging God to give us just ONE chance at having our ONE baby! To have to watch those who are non deserving have child after child with different men, and know that we deserve those babies soooo much more!

Just because you would prefer a house full of animals and a garden over children and marriage does not mean everyone else shares your unusual point of view. According to you, you would now like to make "people friends' and let me tell you, this is not the way to make them. Comparing adopt a fucking highway to having a child is truly one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. You may be an intellectual, as your page states, but that hasn't stopped you from being shallow. Apparently you did not receive the "mother" gene that every one of us on the IF board have, which is okay but, please, go to another board to post your unwanted opinion.

All I can say is WOW! I am so thankful that when we were actively trying before we had our sweet baby girl that I had positive suportive people in my life and didn't have to deal with rude people like this. She clearly needs to leave this group!

OK...Why are you even here?? We have enough pain that we suffer every day. Dealing with infertility AND miscarriage is not an easy thing maybe since you've NEVER experienced that??. It doesn't look like you're supporting us here. We all know that adoption is a choice but having a biological child is different and if I know that I have a chance to get pregnant, I'll try that first. If it doesn't work, then I'm open for adoption and maybe you should go and talk to those people who are drug addicts and get pregnant and advice them. You don't know how it feels when you sit in the doctor's office surrounded with pregnant women and when it's your turn, your doctor tells you that you have a little chance of getting pregnant. You don't know how it feels to spend thousands of dollars to have your own biological child. You don't know how it feels to go through several surgeries and pain. You don't know how it feels to be on the thin surgical table under general anesthesia while you're husband/partner doing his thing next door and and several days later after being exposed in front of doctors and nurses, they do the transfer which I always thought that I'll have a romantic night with my husband and I'll get pregnant like that. And also you don't know how it feels when you have to inject yourself three times a day and take all those medications so finally you can get that two lines on the stick. We DIDN'T make this problem. I don't even want to start with miscarriage after trying for several years and finally getting pregnant and miscarry later which this is only infertility group. If you agree with most of the things that I wrote then you can say "I'm all for supporting infertility" and I wish that one day you get pregnant and hold your child in your warm arms and he/she smiles at you and feel like what it feels to hold emptiness in the empty room which you hope one day will be your baby's room.

I don't want to be mean or disrespectful to anyone but this is the only place (besides my husband ) that I can share my feelings and get support regarding infertility.

rventura425 - are you a complete moron or do you just play one in real life? Adopt a highway as a alternitive to not being able to have a child. While i 100% agree with adoption it is not the same as carrying your own child and having a biological little one of yourself. How about we just call it even-- you never have a child and leave us alone. For someone that is a so called "intelect" and i use that phrase very loosly. It seems you would have done more exploring onto what kind of board you were posting on. Unless of course this is the kind of reaction you wanted, at which point i would have to digress and say you are no intelect at all.

I just hit the ignore button for that top first response ladies... It hides all posts by that individual. Not that this is face book but its too bad there isn't a report button on here to bring attention to a moderator of sorts... I love the unified strong response from my baby challenged friends. Since the first response was on the top I too was confused at first and thought I had clicked the wrong link or something glad to know it's not just me that felt this way. Maybe she thought she had clicked on the adoption box?? Adopting highways has nothing to do with fertility challenges thats for sure. I wish all you beautiful baby hopefuls out there success, luck and pray for the strength we all need to complete this journey we are all on.
