I have stage 2 endo and last year had my 1st laparoscopy. Re was able to remove the endo from both ovaries and w/in 3 months I was pregnant w/ no fertility treatments. Tried 7 more months on our own w/ no luck and moved to IUI w/ Clomid. Just found out that 2nd IUI did not work and was just wondering if any of you feel another lap might increase my chances w/ an IUI? Insurance will cover another lap but will not cover IVF so I was just trying to exhaust all options b/4 IVF. Has anyone heard of better chances w/ IUI after a lap? Do you think another lap is too soon? Thanks for all your support:)

I was in the same boat as you, and I chose to have the 2nd lap. I was all cleaned out August 13 and just went through my 1st injectable/IUI cycle since my 2nd lap. I am only 5DPO now. Not sure if it worked, REALLY HOPING. My RE seems to think it should "up the chances" of IUI because everything is cleaned out. I figured, why not- and I am glad I went through with it b/cuz I had my 1st lap in June 07- just 14 months before, and the endo was back at stage two, this time with some adhesions and some on my ovary. My RE used a laser and was able to remove it ALL... the first time, my other RE did not get it all and wanted me on Lupron- I said uh-uh! Well... I hope this was the key. I've never had success but I had my first lap in my early teens and they cleaned a bunch of endo and other stuff up. About a year and a half later (maybe 2) they went back in because the endo had come back and both tubes were then damaged. They cleaned it up again and did another D&C.

My point is that even though you had it cleaned up once, it is known to come back. Since it worked for you the first time I would suggest doing it again (even if just to be sure it is still gone) before going to IVF.
