Said friend had 2 kids, maybe 6 yo &10 yo, can't really remember but older kids, husband had vasectomy reversed. They tried for 3 months got prego with #3. She was about 35/36 at the time. Hubby and I start trying (I was 34), were very naive and thought it would happen right away. No such luck, so I'm having convo with said friend and how frustrated or rather shocked I was that after 4 months of trying, nothing happened. She told me it wasn't God's timing, I was trying to control things too much and I should just let it go. But then in the same breath she has the nerve to tell me that she "lost it" when she didn't think they conceived after trying for #3 for 3 months. Turned out she was indeed prego, so her melt down was for nothing. WTF!!!! You already have 2 kids and you freak out, yet I'm supposed to be calm????
To add to the story, somehow when she started her cycle after #3, her and I were on the same exact cycle even though we live 800 miles apart. So EVERY FREAKING MONTH she's calling me, asking if I ovulated, did we have sex, do I feel any different. About the time I'm ready to tell her to take a flying leap, she writes one more time and asks if I started, of course I had, she has the nerve to tell me she she's 2 days late and REALLY tired. Am I supposed to congratulate you??? If I could reach through the phone and slap you I would.
I wrote back and told her how insensitive I thought she was and I didn't need her breathing over my shoulder all the time. And how month after month it's just a painful reminder. Her excuse was, she thought I wasn't "excited" enough. Well after 8 months of NOTHING, what do I have to get excited about?? And then to top it all off, we finally get pregnant and then miscarry the same month she has #4.
She hasn't emailed lately, which is good, cuz I'd make her cry.
I know it's not fair of me to want to take it out on her, but I do. She's turned REALLY religious and so they don't plan to ever practice birth control again, just let God make all their decisions. I think it would be over the top to wish a miscarriage on them, but I do hope that at some point, in the near future, they have a hard time conceiving. I'm sure she'll be working on #5 by the end of the year, hopefully this one takes them a while. So she might have some sort of "feeling" of what this is like. But then again, how can you compare her trying for #5, with many of us trying for #1.
Oh and can't help but notice your name Kelly0713?? You don't have to respond if it's too personal, but the 0713 made me think it's your bday?? That happens to be mine. :)
I can't get too angry though, as the acquaintance has become my best customer of crocheted goods (some for the new baby), and my sister can pop out as many nephews and nieces for me as she wants! I love spoiling the little shits and then handing them back to her when I'm done! (Hey, we all get our kicks in different ways, don't judge me!) lol
So yeah, it's annoying, but it's not their fault we can't get pregnant, so try not to blame them or take it out on them too much. Just make a voo-doo doll of them and shove needles in their eyes when you're at home. I won't tell. ;)
