Hi. I am so glad that I came across your message as I’ve been looking for current threads to share with someone what I am also going through... I am currently in my 2ww with my 4th ivf and as from last night I am getting extreme period pains (I have endometriosis so they are extreme!) and literally cannot stop crying! I can’t believe that this cycle didn’t work as we had our best response and I was feeling really positive until yesterday. Like yourself I am also 36 and honestly starting to think that it just won’t happen for me. When I read some comments people are always trying to be positive but the truth is that it doesn’t work for everyone. I’ve been trying now for 4 years and I’m exhausted. I’m not really sure where I go from here and if I could face another cycle!

Ladies, I hit an extremely low point today and decided to search for some support groups. So thankful I came across your stories. My husband and I have also been trying for about two years, and I just started my period this morning after our third IUI attempt. One more, and then we will move on to IVF (only two tries in our budget). I am 37 and I completely understand the feelings of hopelessness. Sometimes trying to remain positive stresses me out even more. Because of my job, I am around numerous people everyday, and each day it seems there is a new pregnancy announcement. I don’t talk about these struggles with anyone but my best friend (who has three young beautiful girls), and she gives the normal advice: keep your chin up, it will happen in it’s own time, this struggle is preparing you for motherhood, etc (I know she means well, I love the girl so much). I’ve stopped believing it will happen, and I never thought it would come to this.
I hope you both take a little solice in seeing first hand that you are not alone in this. I would love to walk together through this pain if you’d like! It may help.

Hi BarreGirl I am so sorry that this hasn’t worked for you as well. It really does seem so unfair. It’s good that you have you best friend to speak to but I understand that it can be difficult. I have decided to be quite open with my struggles so all of my family know and most of my friends however having to tell people yesterday that it hadn’t worked again nearly killed me.

I’m still waiting on my blood test on Tuesday to confirm but I know 100% it hasn’t worked. I really did try everything this time and have spent a fortune on reflexology/ acupuncture/ infusions/ injections and still the same outcome☹️ It would be great to have someone who knows what’s it like as although family and friends are great they just don’t understand what this whole process does to you mentally and physically. I'm 37, never been pregnant, and recently lost an ovary. Friends and family who haven't been through infertility don't understand the emotions etc that go along with it. There were many times I was angry with God. The more I hear from others who have struggled with infertility the more I hear the same. It can be a rollercoaster of emotions. If it wasn't for my faith I don't know if I would've been able to find peace. It is very difficult when you see so many able to get pregnant so easily-esp. the ones that don't want their babies. I don't think I've had the strength (not to mention the finances) to go through the tedious process that so many women have done to try to get pregnant. I think that must make it even harder? My husband and I are planning on going to a seminar on foster care and hoping to adopt through that. Theres so many children out there who need a loving home. I saw a post on facebook about how a couple tried to conceive, but she had only one ovary and the husband was infertile. They fostered for about 4 years and then after adopting a baby they found out they were pregnant! I believe in miracles <3 Peace and prayers <3

Clairelouise1 I am so sorry that you are feeling the cramping. I know the feeling of thinking this cycle might be the one only to be so disappointed when the cramping starts and I get my period. You are not alone in this. I am in my tww. Every now and then I get a cramping type feeling. It’s too early to be implantation but also too early to be from period I would think. I’m trying to stay positive but in my past experiences cramping is not a good sign.
I’m glad I found this support group and others that are going through the same thing. I haven’t shared a lot about our struggles with family or friends, so it’s nice having a place to just let it all out. I don’t even think my husband knows just how much this is all affecting me. We made the decision not to move on to IVF if the IUI doesn’t work so just know I don’t have any other options is a little heart breaking at times.
