Ok ladies - I'm starting to freak out again (just as soon as I got myself calmed down and in a "happy place"). Here is the story - FET on 2/14, positive HPT 5dpt, beta at 8dpt 299, 10dpt -800. I did have some brown spotting Monday (6dpt) and Wednesday (8dpt) which I was told was normal - and it stopped. I never had any acute pain with this - some cramping but linking that to the progesterone because I've had that since I started it (vaginal suppositories). Well, this morning I saw a little blood clot on my pantyliner -sorry if the following is TMI, but it may help to answer this. It was maybe 1/2 inch (maybe not even that big), looked like it would be "stretchy" and it was very dark - pretty much black in color. I am scared to death...I know my betas are good, but it is still so early on that anything could happen. I left a message at RE office but pretty sure nobody will call me back today because it is Sunday. Should I call the emergency number for the RE or let it go? I haven't had any bleeding or change in pain or anything...but I'm so scared :(

if your concerend do what you got to do. even go to out patients. i'd call if your really concerened and if its a clot it could eb many things.

Are you taking Crinone vaginal progesterone? It is notorious for coming back out in a rainbow of colors! Mine was avocado green and I have also heard of black and salmon colors. If you are on Crinone, I would not be surprised if it is actually that. But even if it is a little blood, this can be TOTALLY normal. Big hugs!!!!!!! Call your RE if you have concerns. They are SO nice!!! Sadly, you are not far enough along to get confirmation from an ultrasound yet but you will be SOON! Hang in there!!!

No, it is prometrium vaginal suppositories that I'm on. I just don't want to call like a crazy person knowing that there isn't much that can be done at this point anyhow. I haven't had any other kind of bleeding or anything but I am just so worried all the time. I left a message but then remembered they don't call back on Sundays so I would have to call the on call doc and I just know I will hear "it might be normal, it is to soon to tell.." ugh. Don't know if I should limit activity or not though..

I just called the doctor on-call so I didn't go absolutely crazy waiting around. He said bedrest has not been shown to help anything at this point so just continue about my normal life and go to work tomorrow. He said that miscarriage would have lots of blood, clots, and pretty severe cramping so he doesn't believe this is from that. He said that sometimes spotting comes out in the form of a clot and as long as it isn't accompanied by pain or red blood that it is probably ok. He told me if I see anymore or bleed then we will do another HCG this week and can move the u/s up to at least see a gestational sac...

I'm praying so hard this all stops and I can just enjoy my pregnancy like I want to. I've never been so scared!

First, congrats on the BFP! Based on what my RE said and what I've heard from many other women, bleeding by itself or cramping by itself (unless severe in either case) is usually fine. If you were having a m/c, you would likely have both and a good amount of both.
I was on Prometrium suppositories til week 10 and not to be the bearer of bad news, but I spotted, bled, etc. on and off for most of weeks 5-10. One of the side effects of the Prometrium is spotting, However, they also said I had a subchorionic bleed (which is common- a sac of blood in your uterus NOT attached to the embryo/fetus and NOT harmful to the baby), which could cause bleeding as well.
I know it's terrifying, but bleeding, spotting and even a little bit of clotting is very common in the first trimester. Trust those betas and the fact that if something was seriously wrong, your body would let you know! That being said, I would also report everything to your doctor (I certainly did:) just to be on the safe side.

hi, try not to worry i had this at seven weeks and again at 11 weeks as long as there is no cramping its just old blood making its way out, wishin u a healthy nine months x

Thank you ladies for sharing your experiences. I just wish I could have the luxury of being so happy (without any worry) that I'm pregnant like many who are not affected by IF. Even though I know that all of this can be normal - I get freaked out thinking what if it isn't normal! Going to be a long 2.5 weeks until my ultrasound!

I was going to same thing as Babyjoy....it could be old blood making its way out & is nothing to worry about, especially if there's not heavy bright red bleeding accompanied with strong cramping. Try to remain calm & do something fun to take your mind off of it. =) Good luck momma.
