I have been posting on this board for a couple of years now and I absolutely love the discussions and questions asked here. I understand that DS needs to make money just like any other company and they do it with advertisements on their boards. I believe that because this board deals with a lot of difficult situations and emotions that the company should be a little more selective to the placement of their ads and who should be able to advertise. I find it to be a little disheartening when I am disguising fertility problems and see a picture of a pregnant woman advertising maternity clothing off to the side. I understand that as a business that it may be hard to regulate and that I may be going a little overboard but IF is a sensitive issue.

I know! I think it is ridiculous! I posted a thread about this exact same issue awhile back. I completely agree! I know they need to advertise but there must be some way to be selective about it so that pregnant women aren't constantly in our faces on the side when we are coming here for support for infertility. Not sure if there is someone we could email or something about this?

I found there is a feedback form you can email in to daily strength, so I wrote in about these ads. Hopefully someone will reply and if they can't do something about it, I hope they will give me the info of who I can contact. If you want to write to them too, I think I found it under the "help" link at the top right corner by the "signout" button.

I just double checked and yes it was in the "help" section. Then under "other FAQ", click on "Argh! I need to talk to someone at DailyStrength!", and scroll down to the highlighted "feedback form".

OMG..I'm glad somebody said something about this..I have noticed that myself..the pregnant woman advertising maternity clothes..and just coming on the board to tonight I saw an advertisement for baby clothes!!! I do think its kind of a slap in the face!

I emailed them about it several months ago. I got a standard reply saying they understand my concerns. I emailed back in a rage bc of how they worded things. It was clear someone just picked a generic response and didn't bother to see if it fit. I got a response but by then I was over it and didn't want to get upset again so I just deleted it. Clearly that wasn't enough for them to change bc I still see that baby bump ad.

This bugs me too. I found a way to change the ad. For example, on the picture of the pregnant lady advertising maternity wear. Hover your mouse in the top right corner of the picture. A little arrow will come up, click on it. Read the info and opt out of the 'selected advertising'.. Basically google keeps track of the "cookies" that show the types of things you search for on the internet and they plug in ads that they think relate to your lifestyle based on searches. Ever since I opted out, the worst ad I've seen is the menopause one... :) mostly now I get progressive car insurance ads. Hope this helps.

Good to know MrsSch, I will do that, thanks! I got an email back today from DS that was like a standard response thing but also said that google is responsible for those ads so they can't control them. But they said if you click on the ad and copy and paste the url and then email it in to daily strength, they said they can request google to remove it. Not sure if that is just some BS or not, but maybe worth a shot if we were all emailing in the url's of the unwanted ads.

I've noticed this as well. It's very disheartening to come on here looking for support and advise and find the zulily ad for pregnancy clothes.
