I am new to this support group. My husband and I have been trying to conceive off and on for about 2 years. I have a pituitary adenoma, which has my hormones all over the place. A year ago, my husband was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, which put a complete halt on our efforts to conceive. His treatments ended June 2015 and we began ttc again in September. After completing a sperm analysis to make sure his chemo did not affect his sperm, we found out that he has a low sperm count. We have been going to a fertility specialist. Failed IUI in December and another negative pregnancy test yesterday. I try not to get discouraged, but seeing everyone around me having babies does not help. Being a mother has been something that I have longed for for some time.I hope and pray that it happens soon. I am about to be 36 in a few months and feel that my opportunity is slipping away.

Welcome.. I am sorry for your struggles and hope your husband is doing well. Are you guys contemplating ivf? I totally understand your frustrations but try not to be too hard on yourself for your feelings it's totally natural.. We tried for 6.5 years but due to female issues we ended up doing ivf.. It may seem scary and like a big step but it's well worth everything . Hang in there and stay strong

Thanks for your encouragement. My husband is doing well. My doctor wants to try IUI a couple of times before trying IVF. I am trying to hang in there. I go back next week to try again. Hopefully it will work this time.

Dear, mia0317! This is so hard to read about lovely people cannot conceive due to some obstacles. I really feel sorrow for that you have to survive this all. Also your husband's disease. Cancer anyway brings a lot of harm to the cells and sperm at every stage. You've told you face low sperm count. IUI round brought the failure. What if to try ICSI? What does your doc suggest on the point?
And this is just normal you cannot calmly watch people with their babies around you. The same thing is for us. It brings lots of emotions, also complicated ones, making you feel miserable and burst into tears from time to time. I know this perfectly well..
We're also struggling, having chosen Ukrainian biotexcom clinic, where applied for DE IVF 3 weeks ago. We booked 5 att program as I'm 41 and usually it takes more than 3 att for women of my age.

Heretochat, Thank you for the support. I hate that others share my struggle, but I appreciate that there are others who understand my struggle and we can encourage one another. I have definitely had my fair share of moments where I burst into tears. I have discussed IVF with my doctor and he is not wanting to go that route just yet. He wants to try IUI at least 3 times before trying another option. I went to the doctor today and have to go back Friday to see if I am ready for my 3rd IUI. We will see what happens. I pray for success with your IVF.

I like your doc wants to make sure and try less invasive procedure more times. Probably this makes sense. What about time terms? Probably, you've got some news from Friday consultation? Are you ready for the procedure, what does your doc say? Sorry, if I'm asking too much ;) I really want the things go better for you this time. Have my fingers crossed for every successful journey xxx
