Im sorry to hear you are having such a hard time...I can relate to the pain of infertility...8 years of it. I didn't share with anyone but immediate family. But after 8 years many people guessed or asked. I give you kudos for putting it out there... That takes a lot to do. I can't answer why people haven't donated or like you said at very lease give you words of love and encouragement...sometimes when going thru IF all you want is love, understanding, compassion and encouragement!!! But for some reason people who don't understand what we are going thru they don't know how to act or what to say...I read an article about IF and they said its not like an illness...if you tell someone you have cancer there is sadness compassion love but when you say infertility its like people freeze...they don't know what to say or do to comfort you....it is hard. Stay positive and know that you are doing the best you can do. My thoughts and prayers are with you!!!!

I am so deeply sorry. IF is never easy, but not feeling supported is even worse. It was a great idea and I hope you repost and share it a few more times. I would even send some personally/private messages to people you are closer with, so you can make sure they can't miss it. I admire you and your husband for putting being so brave and putting so much personal info out there for people to see.

Awe hon, I am sorry. Maybe they just need a minute to process and realize that you're opening up your soul and revealing your secrets. No one in my family understands either, we received no help emotionally or financially with our 4 medicated IUI cycles + donor sperm (all out of pocket - we could have paid for a private adoption of a child after that). Even my own mother said, "stop talking about it. You can't think about it, just forget about it." whenever we were going through a cycle and I would get excited and hopeful...she would bring me right back down.

I wish had some words of comfort or wisdom or both. At least what we have here on this site is compassion and understanding. You know, many people just sit and complain about their life or situation. At least you decided to try to DO something about it and take action.

I hope that your family comes around to understanding what you're truly going through. I think they're just not sure of how to respond or maybe they're waiting until they see you in person to present you with a big check (that would be wishful hoping, but hey, stranger things have happened). You and your hubby are so BRAVE for opening up your struggles to your family! And although, it may take you families awhile to come around, I hope and pray that when they do, you will receive all the emotional and financial support that you deserve!

Thanks ladies, it felt good just to get it out. And even then I feel guilty for even having these feelings. I am grateful for the support I get here! The only thing my sister says is that everything will work itself out. Which doesn't do me a whole lot of good but I know she just doesn't know what else to say to me.

First of I should say how brave you are to put up your feelings out there in the open! I would never have the strength to do that !

I guess people really don't know how to react to infertility and most people just don't realize how difficult infertility is.

Im sure anyone in your situation would feel exactly what you felt or even worse! so dont beat yourself up for this.. and hope people do come around and realize and do give a consoling word ..
