Hi ladies -
I wanted to introduce myself here as I've been struggling the past few days with a recent failed FET. My husband and I (both 32) have been married for almost 2 years and have been TTC since then. Started seeing a specialist last July. The testing that was done didn't show any issues, so right now we are "unexplained". We did three IUI's right away and my response to clomid and follistim was great, but still got BFNs.
Started IVF stims in early March with the retrieval on 3/19. 37 eggs retrived, only 14 mature. 9 fertilized and only 4 made it to the thaw (all blastocysts). No fresh transfer as I had OHSS. FET was 6/23 and two were transferred. I got my BFN on 7/3.
I'm really struggling with the why's, I really thought we had a good shot at this. We are meeting with the RE on Wednesday to talk about what happened and what to do next. The only thing I can think of is that maybe my lining (8.6 at transfer) was too thin?
Anyways, it's been rough lately - I'm an emotional person as it is, so lots of crying sessions. Everyone and their sister is pregnant with their first, second and third kids. I just recently got off facebook for a second time this year. Too much to take in.

My husband and I have been TTC for over 5 years, we tried clomid twice with timed intercourse which never worked, they never tested my husband because some girl told him in HS that she was prego with his baby but she had an abortion so no one knows if it was really his, but they kept saying he was proven until i demanded an SA which showed TERRIBLE numbers. We were told years ago that our only shot would be IVF but we ignored that for a long time. We just transferred 2 embryos yesterday and in the 2ww. I hope the doctor can give you some answers.

I have a similar story to yours but haven't reached the IVF step yet. I can relate to the questions you are asking, i struggle with them as well. And ditching FB was probably just what you needed! I canceled mine back in early February, best thing I could have done!
I am happy for those around me that are getting their fairy tales, but that doesn't mean I'm not sad about mine at times!

My DH and I have been trying to conceive for almost 5 years now, and we have unexplained infertility (on me, DH checks out fine). It's a hard and painful journey, and I hope you find a path through it and are able to come out on the other side with a BFP.
As the other ladies have mentioned, this is a great place to get support, vent and ask questions. I've learned so much in the 4 months that I've been here.
You mentioned maybe your lining was too thin. Not sure if this helps but my lining is usually an issue, it takes forever to get to the right thickness. They can't "fix" it, but you can just take estrogen for longer, which is why frozen cycles are good. For my current frozen we took 4 weeks of estrogen to get it ready. I got to above 9 and my doctor was thrilled. I think 8.6 is pretty good (this is coming from a girl who typically is in the 7 range though, so!). As your doctor. I'd bring a list of questions. Sadly, sometimes perfect cycles don't work, but maybe there was something that can be improved for next time.
Welcome to the group! I joined a year ago and would not be where I am today if it was not for these ladies. We are really private about our IF journey. Only our families and a very few close friends know about it so having this site has been amazing for me and I have met amazing friends.
We had the dreaded "unexplained" diagnosis for a long time too. It was really frustrating not knowing why to perfectly healthy people could not conceive.
We went to a new RE for a second opinion after a year with the old one and he suggested doing a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy (surgery) to take a better look at things even though I had no symptoms of anything worth looking for. I had pushed and asked my old RE about this and he said it was not necessary so we stuck with the new RE and turns out it was a good thing. We found stage 3 endo with lots of scar tissue and adhesions, fibroids and a uterine septum. All of which was fixed and cleaned up as much as possible.
So I would at least talk with your RE about if surgery should be something to consider or not. I know its a big step to take on surgery but I am glad I did it! And I knew going in they may not find anything, which would be ok too because then we would know for sure.

So sorry about your BFN cycle, it is so hard to have to go though all of this, especially with a "unexplained DX", but I welcome you to the board, this community is a great support to me as I am sure it will be for you! Hugs!

I would be wanting to know if the clinic went for quantity rather than quality, I would be asking about the lab and techniques.
I know when my first ivf failed and I got 7 eggs of which only 1 fertilized and made it.. I was devastated, for my second ivf which I got 6 eggs and 6 fertilized and 4 made it, We don't get egg freezing where I live ( this was a fresh cycle directly after my first) the only changes I made were we added in a small procedure before the icsi, where they use the eggs to help each other by taking liquid out them then mixing the sperm then putting the liquid into another egg then doing the icsi, I also took cq10 400, laargine 3 times daily, and royal jelly once per day, throughout the stimms... prob a bit obsessive but I was obsessed that it would work.. I'm guessing your going to do another FET?
