I have completed 3 cycles of clomid with no success in getting PG. My insurance only covers 4 BUT at this point, I don't want to try a 4th time. I read somewhere that the clomid is a very low percentage of getting pregnant. I will be meeting with my RE to discuss my options. BUT in the meantime, what do you guys think. She mentioned something like "injectibles" does anyone know what that is? AND she also mentioned IVF???? AT this point, I feel like going directly with IVF? SINCE IVF has a greater percentage amount?????? SO any suggestions? Ideas???? Please need your help. THANKS

I'm sorry that the 3 cycles of clomid didn't help to get you pregnant. I think if I were you, I would take the advice of your RE. I'm not exactly sure of what injectables are, but I just tried clomid along with insemination (IUI) and even though it dodn't work, I am going to try one more time before moving on. I would inquire about IUI before heading straight to IVF--emotionally, physically, and financially less difficult. I hope that helps.

I am at the same point as you are. I tried 3 rounds of Clomid and I never ovulated. I have my RE appointment next week. My OBGYN was prescribing me the Clomid. I will let you know what my RE tells me after I see him. I'm glad you posted this question. I am curious to see what the next step for others was.

I tried one cycle of Clomid and it thinned my uterine lining so on to injectibles. I'll be using Gonal-F, but it's my understanding that it is the same as Follistim. My RE suggested IVF, but since my benefits cover IUI, we're trying that first.

I am sorry to hear that you have had no success so far. We were prescribed a cycle of clomid and unfortunately the side affects left it impossible to even consider a second cycle. I would suggest listening to the medical advice you are given, however, we decided that the 6 cycles of IUI we were offered was not a good ided given that clomid, (or similar) is suggested alongside. We are currently mid IVF cycle and i would suggest that you seriously consider your own personal experiences with clomid to make an informed decision on your next step. I tried 1 month of clomid(in march)and now I'm going straight to IVF--I've been in denial for 4 years--I don't have anymore time to waste. Good luck to you!!
