I'm a believer. It really helped my lining thicken up and helped with the number of eggs (the cycle I did acupuncture they retrieved 24 eggs). It might be too late for that but my acupuncturist who is part of a large research team at Duke University said the most important treatment during IVF is the one you get before transfer and right after. She actually came to my RE's office and did the treatment there. She said that there's a certain protocol that most acupuncturists use for right before & right after transfers -- it is supposed to increase implantation success by 40%. I moved to Atlanta and found a new acupunturist that followed the same protocol. So, if you can find someone to do this then I would definitely recommend it!! It worked for me.

Ive booked mine for the 9th. Its is supposed to help you as you can be stressed etc.... i think if you want something so much dont think twice about it and give it every chance you can so just do it... ive also heard that it doubles your chances aswel. Its kinda all down to making you relaxed!

I can't offer IVF-realted advice, but I am finishing my first cycle on acupuncture and this is my 2nd IUI cycle. I just feel better than last cycle. More relaxed, fewer headaches. My side effects are still there, but I think they are lessened. Can't speak to success rate yet, except to echo the posts before me- my acu says the same things and did treatment right before and right after my IUI. Best of luck!

Wow. I was just thinking about this again. I wanted to do it after 2nd MC but had finally started with a fertility specialist. But, unfortunately, I just had 3rd MC. I don't have troubles getting pregnant so can't relate to the IUI or IVF but I just can't hold. Losing 3 is so depressing. I have to wait until my next cycle to start again. My hormones seem to be the major factor contributing. This in turn may affect my lining. I will take Baby ASA this time to help but I really think the accupuncture will help also. I also see it as a way to help me relax. I used to love going to the gym but after all this I lost interest. Not doing any of the crazy classes I loved because they are too intense but in turn I can't motivate myself to just walk on a treadmill, that is why I loved the classes. I think this will be good and it is helpful to see that it has helped others.

I have been going to acupuncture for almost 3 months now. I am going through my 3rd IUI. It has not helped me yet, but I am hopeful that it will.

I am doing acupuncture with this first cycle of IVF. My sister is an acupuncturist so we are working things out. She will be doing sessions starting now, but it helps at any point for many reasons. I have one statistic that's the most recent: Success with first 8 acupuncture treatment for IVF is 42.5% compared to 26.3% success in control group without acupuncture for IVF.
I hope this helps. My sister will also be coming to the retrieval and transfer to do acu specific times before and after the IVF for best results. It sounds strange but I'll take that higher success rate for how much we're paying. Good luck.

Im going through a course of acupuncture along with chinese herbs. I used herbs alone to fall pregnant the last time and they worked after 8 months, this time Iam doing both and have been doing them for a month now so fingers crossed. I believe it will work as it makes me feel so good after the session and that has to be helping.

I am a huge believer in Accupunture, but it does take 120 days to develop your egg/follicle. Following our failed IVF and FET using accupunture my doctor said my eggs were bad (despite an existing male factor) We have gone to straight Accupunture, Chinese Herbs, diet and excersise. In four months my BBT charts were pristine. I am on my third month of perfect charts and am very hopeful. Will test in a few days and let you know how successful my program has been. At leat I have lost 15 pounds and feel great in the process.

I have been doing accupuncture and herbs for the last three months and I am definatly noticing a difference in the way that my body is handeling things. I am not as moody right before AF and AF starts off strong the day I start not taking its sweet time. Now I can say that I am getting impatient with it taking 3 months but he is confident that things are getting better. I go twice a week and the plan is almost at an end. I would like to continue but financially if we have to move on to IVF I am not sure I will continue unless the price goes down. I hope this helps.

I didn't do accupuncture on my first IVF, BFN. I tried it on my 2nd IVF, still BFN.

I honestly wasn't a fan. I do agree it made me feel better and help with the pain and crampy feelings.

I'm going for restorative yoga this time around. :)

It's a debate whether accupuncture really increases success rates. It really depends on who you ask. :)

I am a believer. I started acupuncture a month ago. I noticed my cycle move from 21 days to 26 days. I am hoping that it improves the quality and quantity of the follicles. I figure even if it just reduces stress and takes my mind off of all things baby - it is a success.
