Infertility, Secondary Support Group
"Secondary infertility" is difficulty conceiving after already having conceived and carried a normal pregnancy. Apart from various medical conditions (e.g. hormonal), this may come as a result of age and stress felt to provide a sibling for their first child.

There was a discussion somewhere about the pregnancy group in this site. I told him there should be two pregnancy groups, one for unwanted pregnancy, and one for wanted pregnancy. This was the conversation:

You may already know this, but there are several women who belong to the infertility site who become pregnant, try out the pregnancy site, and never want to go back. Is it possible to create two pregnancy categories? Maybe "teen pregnancy" and "adult pregnancy," or even better, "wanted pregnancy" and "unwanted pregnancy." Thank you for Daily Strength. It is wonderful!

Hmm... I will add it to our list of suggested communities. Why is the current community not sufficent? Thanks!

From what I have heard, there is a large quantity of teens in the pregnancy group who spend a lot of time complaining about being pregnant. This is difficult to hear for someone who cherishes pregnancy. Being able to connect with people who are going through the same thing is invaluable. It is what makes these groups so great. I can think of nothing more diverse than a community of women who are with child and happy about it,who want to talk about the joys along with the pains--and a group of girls complaining about the life inside them, too young to understand the beauty of it, and unfortunately, too young to give the child the care he/she deserves. I think those who have an unwanted pregnancy have very different issues than those who are pregnant and want to be, other than strictly medical issues. Thank you for listening to our concerns.

Thanks for the heads up! We'll definitely consider the issue. Thanks!
I thought some of you might want to add to what I have said, so I thought I'd tell you about it.

You know----I think it would be good to have the 2 sites here on DS--wanted pregnancy and unwanted pregnancy (well, that sounds bad---there is probably a better way to say it) BUT another way to look at it is....people on DS come b/c they are in pain over an issue----cancer, death of a loved one (bereavement), history of abuse, depression, INFERTILITY!!!!---we all know that one too well. So----sometimes I think the women here on DS who get pregnant may want to stay on to be in contact w/ all their "friends" and keep in touch. BUT perhaps they would be better suited on a babycenter.com or similiar website w/ happy, joyful moms. I know in 2004 when I was pregnant, daily strength was definitly not anything I needed or wanted. I was happy!!!! But really, that it just my humble opinion and I am not trying to impose it on anyone. :)

I just had another thought...what about the pregnancy site, and then a separate site for PREGNANCY AFTER LOSS AND INFERTILITY. It's just a thought! personally, while I will stay in touch----my nose will be back in all my pregnancy books and if i'm on the web---it would be the babies r us website or babycenter.com. better yet--i will be in a prenatal yoga class! but,unfortunatly---i am not that optimistic it will happen currently!

Yes, I agree that "unwanted pregnancy" does sound bad. Unfortunately, that's how it really is. I do think that yours is a better idea, Nancy. I vote for it! I'm sorry you are so down. I wish there was something I could do!
