I am diabetic started having issues at 47 with urge incontinence. I got a catheter but walking around caused failure way to many times, I finally called company and they said to not use a strap but a sock. This worked ok but the look caused problems because people are stupid. I ended up finding one that looked more like a pocket. I take a muscle relaxant type med and with training myself to go every hour i am ok. The emotional issues from being incontinent are wrecking me anyone else.

Hey there, I’m really sorry your going through what you are, all of us here will understand one way or another how your feeling and if you wish it can help to chat. I’m guessing these problems are fairly new to you which I think is the hardest time trying to understand why your body is letting you down and trying to come to terms with it. I’ve been dealing with it since I was 8 (19 years now) when I was hit by a car and been left with some day wetting, almost constant bedwetting and a life changing operation when I was 20. Since the accident I’ve needed pads during the day and diapers when I sleep and the hardest days were without doubt the earlier years. Going to school in a diaper I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
I’d like to say things do get easier over time as you accept it and learn to deal with it but the emotional ups and downs don’t stop. Hopefullly chatting and venting with us will help.

As a life-long bedwetter I know the problem, and recently had
indwelling catheter for 18 months due to UTI and prostate enlargement. First with bag then with valve/tap. With double
close fitting undies managed fine for day and night. All kept in place OK even for dancing! Hope your system success too.

For Dad416 . I hope you solved your catheter problem? Without bag, just a manual valve. and close-fitting underwear holding all in place, I managed to dance both on-floor-work and high-kicks so I hope you have been able to do all the activity you need and want too? How are you doing?

It can be really tough some times. It's embarrassing. And difficult. I'm a disabled mother. I'm quadriplegic and I'm in a wheelchair. I have many health issues. I am doubly incontinent. I used to use indwelling catheters. But way too many UTIs. So now I have to use the adult diaper briefs. I try not to think about it much.
