Incest Survivors Support Group
Incest refers to any sexual activity between closely related persons that is illegal or socially taboo. Consensual adult incest is very rare. Incest between adults and prepubescent or adolescent children is a form of child sexual abuse that has been shown to be one of the most extreme forms of childhood trauma. If you or a loved one is a survivor of incest, join the group...

Anyway, try to surround yourself with people you enjoy being around and do what you want. Not what people think you should be doing. I hope you do have a happy birthday. My favorite birthday cake is lemon cake with lemon icing with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side...mmmm! For my birthday dinner I always either have all the sushi I can eat or my husband makes me eggplant parm, those are my fav dinners. I love food, that always makes me happy, so I eat what ever I love all day! Then I'm happy ;) Mabey start planny all the good stuff you can eat!
I hope I helped a little, I know how hard b-days are. One of the biggest days when your childhood stares you right in the face or lack there of. Take care, don't let anyone else take the joy out of birthdays for you.
Holidays were when our relations were all together and interacting with one another.
Sort of a dysfunctional family Olympics.
I understand how birthdays can be sad. I don't remember a party as well. But I do remember having parties for other siblings. I just can't remember mine??
As an adult and young teen I did plan out my own parties. I sort of made them happen for myself. and as I got older friends would surprise me :) But I remember even though I was being celebrated I wasn't genuinely happy -- deep down. But to answer your question "is there such a thing as a Happy Birthday?"
Yes, it will be the day when we can be happy we were born, and celebrate our life. I think that when i've healed much more I can be deeply happy for my day of Celebration. may life be yours today :)
Today is your birthday and the world would be less if you weren't in it...believe it or not.
If you can't celebrate for yourself, then celebrate for that little boy of you who bore so much. Show him that you care enough to acknowledge him...make something for him.
And because the brain can't tell the difference between what we imagine and reality, put a big smile on your face and "pretend" if you must, that you are happy for the child-self of you.
Happy birthday, dear loum50.

Bon Anniversaire and many more others filled with more and more joy and blessings!
Could you nominate another non-birthday where you treat yourself like the special birthday boy I imagine you must wish you'd felt like?
