It does sound as though she is not terribly in touch with her emotions, perhaps she is afraid.

Well done for making yourself heard, I still, at the age of 54, don't have the courage to talk to my mum that way. That takes real guts, you are very brave.

I believe it's good to cry it out sometimes too, but do you have anyone who is solidly there for you, someone you trust?

Thank you all for your kind words. No I have no one that I trust. I've told my mom about this stuff before but it seems to go in one ear and out the other. She's never shown emotion to me. She's never comforted me. But I needed her to listen even just this once.

Sounds like your family is a lot like mine and would rather have you just be quiet to keep the harmony in the family going instead of facing the problem. It's important to let them know that you are NOT there to make this process easier and more comfortable for THEM. You are here to try and have a happy life, that is your right, and they have absolutely no right to stand in your way.

I straight up told my mom:
" I'm tired of you pretending that there's nothing wrong. Theres nothing perfect about this family. It's a family of manipulative, abusive, perverts. And I'm not going to Let you pretend there's nothing wrong. This is wrong!"
