I cry myself to sleep a lot.
Dunno why.
Or if asleep, sometimes I wake up at 530 am and cry. Again, no telling why, just sorrow...therapist thinks this is an emotional flashback.
This makes sense...
Yesterday I'd chanted during my bicycle ride, five miles...good for the lungs, chanting while bicycling....and seeing the horses in their pastures on my circuit...it's as if I could see the living mani, the life energy in the horses and cattle, trees and plants and occassional crabby egret grouchily flapping out of the way...
I had a good day, really. In fact I noted that I am even joyful and cautiously optimistic some days for the first time in...gawd, since probably the beginning of 2010?
...But at 530, it was sort of the opposite, all the things that prevent that mani in myself and the people I talk to and heal with online from reaching our potential, our state of delight, sort of crashed in on me and I wept from the sorrow.
We're some of the most valuable people around because of our compassion...and we have the hardest freaking time believing it.

It seems you are balancing out things quite beautifully. 2010? you say. You deserve a bit of joy, that was a long dark night of the soul you had there.
Yes, yes! You are right we are special! The more compassion you feel the further you are from Psycopathy. We ultra-extra-empathetics are the polar opposite of Psychopaths, who can only feel their own pain.
I get a short joy rush every few weeks, but it is really easy to crush. I hope yours is durable.
When in denial, I used to unconsciously refuse to be up after midnight or I took sleeping tablets.Now, I am very aware of that internal clock in me.I am learning to deprogram my internal clock and pacify my inner child.
My husband, also a survivor, starts reactivating at 4 in the afternoon.He starts being very anxious and scared.
Which means, really, we are on the road to recovery.
My husband's abusivestep mother would be drunk from 4 o clock.
