Shame is the root of my pain. I feel that since I was not even loved by my parents who would ever love or accept me. I doubt everything I do. I don't believe I am worthy of anything good in my life. I feel incapable in everything I do. No matter how good I am at anything its not good enough. I feel I must be perfect and flawless in everyway or else everything my parents did or said to me was correct and I deserved it.
I am here to shine a light on my shame. Shame can not survive with empathy.
My abuse was two fold because my Mother did not believe me. My father is out of my life for 20 years but my Mother still shames me and she has enlisted my sister to join her cause. She has also enlisted my ex-husband to prove me an unfit Mother and has used the family law court to try to take my children from me. They did lose the case thank you GOD.
The only thing in my life I have ever been sure of is that I am a Great Mother/protector of my children. My Mother has tried to take that from me to perpetuate her denial that I am a healthy person. Because in her eyes if I am a healthy person her story that the abuse was not real is threatened.
I have nothing to be ashamed of. I am good enough. I had a couple of bad parents only because I was UNLUCKY--that's it just UNLUCKY. I am worthy of the love of my children. I am worthy of a good job. I am worthy of happiness. I am GOOD ENOUGH despite any mistakes or imperfections I might have. My soul is good, my love for my children is pure. I work everyday to provide for us. I clean the house as best I can. I show up for my friends when they need me.

You remind me how strong survivors are. The battles we face are tremendous.I know you feel shame, but I see a person who is remarkably strong, has the ability to commit to protecting her children, and is perfectly imperfect.
You did the right thing. You are what is right in the world.
You should be proud, so proud, of what you are doing for your children.
You may have been unlucky in your parents, but they are very lucky to have you as their mum.
