I never experienced this feeling before.
I have just become a grand mother again.A beautiful little girl called Valentine who is so calm and serene.I am very happy.

A few weeks before her birth, I got triggered and had horrible flash backs of my father aborting me.I nearly fainted under the memories of the baby dying and my father making me responsible for her death by imposing a choice on me, her or me to stay alive.in fact, there was no choice at all.
I felt so bad I had to call the psychiatrist nurse who explained to me I was not responsible for her death.

As in most flash backs, it went back into denial territory.But now,a few weeks after the fb, I get very nervous around my grand daughter.I am baby sitting her next week end.I have this unrational fear of droppping her on the flooor, or that I could end up hurting her.I know inside me I could not .In my dreams, I often have to protect babies, or I am looking for a baby who has disappeared or shrunk to nothing
Has anybody had this fear around babies.They look so fragile and vulnerable.

So did you have an abortion by your father? Is that what I am getting from your post?
I had to get one at the age of 15 from my dad's neighbor. Not easy to do in those days and at that age. Oh the stories I could tell, but it's done and over with.
Please don't worry about watching your own grandchild, you will be wonderful. No self doubt. Just enjoy the time. You'll be great.
Congratulations. Valentine has a wonderful, caring, loving grand mother. She is a very lucky baby.

It's the memories creating the anxiety but it's not you. It sounds like you have a lot of concern and love for this child and how lucky it is to have a grandmother like that.
My abusers did not win.I have developped love and compassion.I am not that creature from the devil they had convinced me I was.
