My mother commited suicide two days ago

Just before Christmas, my mother took an overdose, apparently left a suicide note and her testament.
One of my brothers briefly telephoned me the news, adding that"anyway, the house is worth nothing", which I saw as a way of coning me .
They must have emptied the bank account by now and probably turned me into the scape goat for my mother's suicide.
Her death has brought back a lot of rage in me.On the news, I felt she had chosen a cop out again.
Two days after,I feel better.I am a Buddhist.I hope she has a happier rebirth.
Somewhere, I feel relieved too.No more abusive words.
All these Christmases I used to spend with my abusers.Unbelievable, when I think of it.All this mascarade for her to finally end like that.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with all that - my mother didn't bless us all with that and the abuse goes on... I used to spend with my perps too.. all of them but now since I readdressed my abuse from my 10 & 12 year older siblings from infancy to 6years.. I don't get any present at all from her..... except to have a peacefull self-loving xmas so even though their behavior is repulsive and punishing... it is really my reward :) - hope you can see the same thing for you....

I am making myself a nice Christmas, looking forward to a new beginning.I feel I can become myself now and not live under my parents' shadow anymore.

I am so sorry....we have never met here but I saw this on the main board and had to respond. My BIL committed suicide about the same time two years ago....my sister is dealing with it by being with us for the last two Christmasses....but I do not know about the abuse you endured or who caused it but just wanted to say I am so sorry for your loss...buddhism doesn't celebrate Christmas that is a blessing for you.
