So since a week ago or so there was this severe storm and I am in the northeast of the USA, suddenly my family (from which I haven't heard in years, some decades) started calling and emailing me. Why on Earth for? Who knows.
The thing is that I have a brother and sister who I talk to and live in the region too. They didn't call any of them.
So they're still playing their stupid games. The reason why they called me and not the others is because the other two were shunned away from their stupid "religion" [read "cult"]. I wasn't shunned; I left voluntarily. So they feel that since technically I wasn't kicked out, they can call me but not them.
The funny thing is that they really think that I am here feeling miserable waiting for their call. They really expect that I am going to jump out and drop everything and be so ecstatic about them calling me.
They are in denial about me not wanting to do anything with them. They are passive/aggressive at best, bullies at worst.
Don't know what part of "I want nothing to do with any of you" they just don't effing get.
Anyway, just ranting about it. I didn't call back or replied to their emails. Out of my life means out of my life. Storm or not.

I find the best way of getting them to shut up and go away is to remind them of why I haven't spoken to them.
The last time I ignored an email from my mum, I got a second saying the first had failed - so I replied saying that I had got it but I had been in the middle of memories of what my father had done so I hadn't felt like replying.
It's gone quiet again.
