You have to do what's best for you, and I completely understand why you need to leave DS. Just know that if and when you choose to come back, we'll all still be here for you. I wish you nothing but good things and I wish you good luck on your journey. I hope I can still keep in touch with you via email. We're all rooting for you!!!

proudaunt, I am sorry you are leaving but it sounds like a good reason. I am glad your therapy is ongoing and as intense as it is - it sounds like you are making progress. You will be missed and yes at times I have had to leave for a while for similar reasons. Just remember DS isn't going anywhere and it would be nice if you could check in from time to time when you are ready. It has been a pleasure reading your posts and you will be missed. But as Aimee said. Recovery is all about what is best for you.

last comment. When i finnally recovered - i rethought the terms survivor and victim. I do not tend to use the victim term much anymore because I realized for me I was only a victim when the abuse was happening. And I realized I became a survivor the day the abuse stopped. So for my money you are Survivor and you should be proud of yourself for pushing ahead as you are. It took great courage and strength to survive and you and you will recovery. I hope you read my lastest post titled " intense letter that speaks for itself" . it is very positive I think.
