I can tell you it can get better, not perfect. Try to find a face to face support group for trauma survivors. People who have been through it can understand how much you need to lean on them for a while.

That's just how I feel. I try to remember that these feelings come from the abuse, and it is not because I am inherently lacking in any way.

Reminding myself means it is better now than it used to be. The pain is the same when it hits, but it hits less often and I recover better from it.

I know what you mean, hope - 25. But remember there is no "fair." You just need your friends. And if you can help your true friends understand what you need, your true friends will be there for you. Know that we are here for you too. I like loum50's idea. A support group for trauma survivors would be really good for you right now. Even your true friends can't always understand what you have been through and how it effects you. But a trauma survivor group would be helpful. I have been in some good groups and can say the people in them made a real difference in my healing.

Do you like music? When I get so sad and need someone to tell me everything will be okay, I play some of my favorite cds and tune in to a favorite radio station. This gives away my age but I recommend Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Paul Simon, Tracy Chapman, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and Al Green. They help every time. But hey Natasha Beddingfield, Alicia Keys, and Mary Blige are current and they are great too. Sing along and dance - that helps. Music has saved my life many times. Hugs to you, hope - 25. Your right breaking that's something i tend to forget that somethings aren't my fault and they are a result of me being abuse..Dragonfly You know what you hit the nail on the head because i brought the issue up to my friends and they didn't understand why or where it was coming from but they are here for me regardless. I love my bestfriends i call them my sisters they know what goes on they just dont understand how it effects me.music can be bitter sweet for me it all depends but i'll try making a mix of happy songs and see if that works... I wouldn't dwell on the things my friends have that I don't. It could become more difficult to deal. If your friends are good to you and loyal, that's reason enough to celebrate. You're still a great friend in spite of not having the support they seem to have.

I'm not sure where you are from but I have been doing research trying to find a support group in my area and I just found out today that there is such a thing as a survivors anonymous. I think it is actually titled with survivors of incest (I really hate that word), but is really for all sexual abuse. From what I saw, they have meetings around the world. Everyone here seems great and for unfortunate as it is that we are all here it is nice knowing I am not so alone as I also do not have any family here. I decided I needed to meet people where I could get a hug from if needed as well. Not sure if that may be something you'd be interested in. Yes I will still be coming here as well. :-)
