I still feel like I'm fooling everyone.

I like my job and I know I'm good at what I do, but every day I'm expecting to get fired. Every time someone introduces me the introduce me as either the smartest person in the company or the most valuable person in the company. The vice president of the company just bought me a new desktop and a new laptop computers. Being an abuse survivor really sucks. I can't accept anything good about myself. Inside I still feel like I'm useless and worthless and like I'm fooling everyone.

I know how you feel loum. I'm an artist and no matter how good people say I am I always feel like I could be better or that I am fooling people. Just keep reminding yourself why you feel the way you do. You are deserving!!!

oh yes...that's me too. No matter how well I do something and people say that's beautiful, I'm saying well,yeah but there's this tiny imperfection that no one sees but me. Sometimes they see it if I point it out...When I left my last job (under good circumstances) the owner confessed later that he had to hire two people to do the job I was doing. Still didn't feel I was all That good. huh...Employers must really like that aspect of codeps. That has some pretty not so good implications for hiring practices. I hear it gets better and at some point in recovery one starts to accept praise and believe in themselves. I'm sure you'll get there

Two weeks ago I cut the word "worthless" into my stomach...I'd been triggered badly...and now that I don't feel so wretched I really am annoyed for writing that on myself.

I hear you on the 'fooling everyone' bit. I am praised often at work as well. I do a great job, and I know that i am good at what I do. The clients are always so happy to see me when I get into the office after being away for awhile, like 2 days!
I guess i can relate to them and treat them like people. Not the worthlessness they feel.
Your doing a great job Loum, its hard sometimes to recieve, One joyful day you will and it comes through sometimes. It melts off that worthless feelling. Let it shine Loum.
