Hi. I have been seeing my counsellor for nearly 2 years now. It has taken that long for me to be able to start talking and trust. Last week she told me that due to lack of funding she is losing her job so wednesday will be our last session. She works for rape crisis and they have major ongoing funding issues. I am totally devastated as have no one else I can talk to or that I trust. What am I going to do?

I'm surprised she did not give you a list of resources to contact. Can you contact her or the office and ask? I understand you are shocked and devastated. Please look for alternatives for face to face therapy and at the same time use DS to talk about how you feel. You may be stronger than you think!

I can imagine this is devastating news, but instead of being floored by it now is the time to kick into action. You know you want and will benefit from therapy so what other routes can you go down to get it?

Are there other charities you can get help through? Depending on where you are can you get seen via your health service or paid for with insurance?
