My mom divorced my dad some time ago...My brother was six...
the repressed memories uncorked later...and I decided not to tell my brother so that my brother could have some vague excuse of an actual dad.

Trust me it's been a vague excuse.

But anyway, I did finally attempt to tell my brother...and he said that first, he really didn't want to know...but that he didn't really like or respect dad anyway. I replied...after thought "Ok....But you and ______ are trying to have kids.You need to know that if you have a girl don't leave her alone with him."

....Today, my mom called me to warn me my father was at the house so I would not stop by. Ok, cool.
So then she started rambling about my dad's dilapidated car, and I said "Mom, I've got a giant grin on my face as I'm imagining myself stabbing him repeatedly. The thought of killing him makes me really happy. I would love to be able to kill him and am really, really looking forward to his death."

Mom kind of got off the phone after that...

Yanno, I really enjoy hating him sooo much...

in real life, I would end up self hurt.
For some reason, I could only think of I having been abused and warned my niece about my faher.I totally blanked out the possiblity of my father abusing my three brothers.Why?because it is beyonD
imagination;It did happen;pedocriminals abuse boys and girls, specially if they themselves, have been abused.
Consequently, my father abused several boys in the family.

Hylie-your brother and my brother could be twins living in the land of Denial together. My brother still has a relationship with my evil abuser father. It hurts me so much. They have a 6 month old baby (my brother and his wife). I prayed that the baby wouldn't be a girl and it is a boy-but I still feel really freaked out that after all that my brother knows, that he lets my father see his baby, hold his baby and be "grandpa" I can't tell you how many severe anxiety and panic attacks I have had about this. My brother lives about 45 minutes away from me so when I hear that my father is coming to visit him, I freak-I get totally terrified. Usually they don't tell me, which is even worse because then I feel unsafe all the time. I can't be close to my brother and I may end up cutting all ties over this. It is horrible.

When his wife was pregnant, we went out to dinner and I had rehearsed with my therapist this conversation just asking them to promise never to leave the baby alone with him-whether they believed me or not. Then his wife went to the bathroom and my brother looked at me and said "don't talk about that around her-she thinks we had a great childhood and I don't want her to know anything other than that" Do you believe that? He would risk the safety of his kid to protect the image that we had a good childhood? What a huge asshole!

So anyway, I totally get where you are coming from...
