I lost my closest friend (ex partner) about a year ago and I am still grieving that loss every single day. My life feels so sad and empty without her.
I also split up with my other partner about 2 years ago. We thought we would be together forever. Losing that relationship had a lot to do with my abuse issues.
I feel very lonely and I feel like I will be alone forever. It is hard and it is sad. At the same time, in order to "date" again, I would risk the possibility of a physical relationship and that is way too scary for me.
Please know you are not alone and there are people who care-like me... (((hugs)))
I would say I'm sorry for the bad emotions you're feeling, but I'm proud of you for being able to feel them, even if they're yucky. It takes such great strength and courage to do so.
You're such a wonderful part of this site, Lou! Keep on fightin' the good fight!
Its sad but true for me.
I love it when I actually feel feelings - except fear. I can't handle fear. So I don't know if it the fear of feeling fear that keeps all the other feelings behind an icy curtain, or whether it's now just habit. Probably a bit of both.
Fear of attack visited me big time last week for the first time in ages, making me realise how far I have come. I was on my own in the house and had left something in the car. It was after dark. I made myself go outside and get it, I made myself walk instead of run. I was so shit scared but I had to keep on the right side of panic. I was so happy once I was back on the correct side of the front door and it was locked - and I could breath again.
Ioum - it also sounds like good news about your new therapist?
Lost my man, the only good one, and grief mixed up with all this other emotional turmoil is a particularly heady brew.
I understand your feeling of exhaustion, it is all so overwhelming - some days I wake up crying, as though my brain has carried on from where I left it the night before.
I'm really pleased your diabetes is doing o.k. and that the new therapist is shaping up well.
The best help and inspiration I have in my life is people like you. You are so busy with keeping it all moving in a positive direction. Channelling negativity into something useful and progressive, resisting negative urges. You are very impressive. We all love you to bits.
Although you are mixed up and crying, I read this as a brave and positive post and you are an absolute trooper.
