When I first met him almost four years ago, I was relatively unfamiliar with ABDL, so I set out to learn more. What I found was that very little research has been done on the topic, most likely for the reason you mentioned above. The behaviors themselves were found to be a means of obtaining sexual gratification, as well as a strategy used to cope with negative mood states, like anxiety and depression.
