Incest between adults and prepubescent or adolescent children is a form of child sexual abuse that has been shown to be one of the most extreme forms of childhood trauma. The thing that strikes me is the question of *boundary issues*. Maybe if you felt more secure about your boundaries you would be less troubled by arousal issues. Maybe not. But it does seem like something you might need to be aware of.
I recently started ballroom dancing myself! I go with my husband, so it's not as threatening. But whenever I have to dance with the instructor, I feel fear and shame around boundary issues. If I feel attracted to the "wrong" person I feel I have violated a boundary and I feel ashamed.
If so, I really really have this problem...
I am attracted to women as well as men...
and not looking at exposed cleavage is a challenge. Since I assume most women are heterosexual, I also assume they would prefer I maintain eye contact, and not look at..you know...
I do my best.
As far as men looking at breasts...I think many heterosexual and bisexual men experience breasts as the same sort of...um...objects that require effortful eye avoidance.
...it does sound like your dancing might be good for getting used to this in a non-threatening way... Hmm.
If so, it might just take some time to make the necessary social adjustments to avoid being embarrassed. In many cultures sexual flirting is considered completely normal and acceptable. I personally feel countries like the US have a very abnormal attitude toward sexuality, most likely because so many of the European settlers who came here were Puritans and Calvinists. They believed sexuality was evil, an attitude which most modern people would now recognize as deviant.
I've always had a strong sexual drive, but that often got me in trouble socially. But I'm certain now that the prevailing social attitudes were wrong, not me.
I want sex and I don't want sex...not a good place to be.
