An old friend from high school has invited me to stay with her and her family, for a week. We have not seen each other in over twenty years. We reconnected a year ago. (old high school friends) As much I would love to see her and meet her family, I am scared to death. I have never meet her husband and boys.

First, I'd stress up front how much you want to see her and meet her family because that's what it sounded like to me.
And as one of your "biggest supporters," I think she'd be able to read and understand the fears you wrote in your post--print it and ask her to read it.
I'd also include what to do in the event you did have a seizure and ask her how she feels about being prepared.
Or you might get a hotel room which would give you more control over the situation; though I'd still mention the seizures and the preparedness plan...just in case.
And I'd be upfront with my concerns about being alone with men; she knows of your experience with abuse and would hopefully understand.

And how about staying for just one night for the first time so you can see how it goes? If it works you can stay longer the next time and build up gradually to a week if that is what you both want.
Staying a whole week with someone you haven't seen for so long is a big order for anyone.
maybe you and your friend could meet halfway and stay somewhere interesting and catch up. invite her to see you! I know my women friends have made all the difference in helping me heal so I hope you get to enjoy your friendships too. Hugs to you proudaunt.
