My abuser is having a child...I am angry at God. I am so overwhelmed by so many emotions... How could God allow this to happen?
My abuser was in a horrible car accident three years ago. He wasn't wearing his seat belt, flew through the windshield, and the car landed on his hip. He literally was on the verge of death for about three months... was in a medically induced coma in the ICU for about a month and we didn't know if he would be brain damaged and/or paralyzed when he came out of the coma because of bleeding in his brain and lacerations along his spine. He had a whole list of injuries but one of them was that his penis was severed. Had to be reattached...
I never in my wildest dreams thought that he would ever be able to have kids. A huge part of me took comfort in that... And I am just in shock that this is possible. And people in my family...even ones who KNOW what he did to me are HAPPY for him?

Sorry to hear that your family is actually supporting this. How many of our family members have such short memories in regards to abuse? Make sure to take care of yourself, even if there is nothing you can do to help this child. I wish I could provide something more positive about this, but I do not know how after my experience.
It's just a thought. We don't have all the information and the decision is totally yours as always.
But yes, I have often thought that several of my abusers should not have had kids, or ever be allowed to have them. It's another vulnerable life for them to hurt. And even if there is by chance no physical abuse, the chances are that with someone who has shown they are capable of physical abuse before, they will be so psychologically damaged that some kind of emotional abuse will probably be inevitable anyway. Their whole attitude is skewed.
