My abused child part was in therapy today and it was very intense. He was talking about the abuse and how terrified, lonely and sad he was. I don't cry very often in therapy, but today my eyes were not dry. He tried to give my therapist a picture of what it was like. I feel very validated, both with the sexual abuse and the DID.
Your post reminded me of my own work. The work is hard. The tears run deep, as does the terror, loneliness and sadness.
I'm glad you have the courage to do it and that you felt validated, though I'd like to ask what felt validating for you; was it you trying to "give your therapist a picture of what it was like," or the response of your therapist, or ?
