I recently signed up for a certification program that I think I would like but isn't what I truly want to do with my life. What I believe my calling is. But I feel like I need to limit myself to avoid worsening my symptoms...but will I regret that for the rest of my life? I am not sure if I can handle the stress of school (a Master's in Social Work-which I have part of already) that I really want to do. And not sure about practicing social work either but I feel like it is my calling. My meds keep needing to change, for the past 5 years...been on 47 different psych meds (and hundreds of combinations) and hospitalized 18 times. But I managed to finish my Bachelor's in Psych and Biology. Is it right to doubt myself? To limit myself in fear of what...failure? Not sure if this is making sense or the right place to post this but....
Thanks guys!
I agree with braincandy, you've already accomplished most of it, so chances are... . I personally would regret it, and I'll be very proud of myself when I do accomplish my goal. It sounds like you should be worrying about anxiety. Evidence suggests that cognitive behavioral therapy can be very useful. Maybe ask your social worker about if, if you have one?
