jtm217: I hav suffered from ED most of my adult life- due to various causes, most recently due to diabetes and neuropathy. The pain and sadness that goes along w/this is indescribable. For me the hardest part is not having a partner- people always say if you have an understanding supportive partner, that's half the battle. Unfortunately, for many of us that is simply not the case. Anyone who thinks finding a suitable person to date is no big deal should walk a mile in my shoes. EVERY time I start dating someone, I have to consider having "the talk" after the 1st date or whenever things start to get physical. Not to disparage the ladies, but I have endured enough rejection for a lifetime, as many women simply are not interested getting involved w/someone having ED, assuming it'll be too much of hassle. This is why I find it so INFURIATING when ads and medical articles always say "talk with your partner." Does it not occur to them that someone who cannot get an erection may have some difficulty finding or keeping a girlfriend?! Anyway, I get the hard to talk about thing- I have spoken to exactly ONE person (who was not a health care provider). jtm217- hang in there....I, and I'm sure many other people on here would be more than happy to provide you with support.

I guess this is the group for me because life has dealt me the same ED problem only with added teaser. I'll be 65 next month. About 2012 I began to have problems with erections on and off didn't think much about it. Around 2015 one morning I woke up and it felt like my penis was missing, I had to check. So like you guys I go to the doctor and you get all these different diagnosis which really isn't the answer because those same diagnoses is found in many other medical problems. Now in my case I can get erections but not spontaneous erections. Some morning I wake up and wow! but most morning it's dead. But occasionally I'll get an erection but never when I want it. The pills never really worked for me. Unless you have it you really don't know how degrading and disheartening it is to not be able to have penetration. To add to that misery to have a wife to tell you she doesn't care. I'm stuck in a marriage with someone who doesn't give a damn and to add to the insult she moved into the other room where everything is removed. No oral sex, touching, rubbing, fondling nothing. I've often thought about divorce and finding women my age who doesn't really care for penetration but is willing to do oral, funding, rubbing, touching, etc... That is really all we have left. You're absolutely correct, I think 99% of women don't want to have anything to do with a man who can't penetrate her and it's understandable. I am so sick and tired of hearing the cliches, the useless talk to your partner advice and being told to hang in there. I'd much rather you said nothing than placate me with empty words. Sorry fellas just rambling a bit. Sad to say but I am now weighing giving up my marriage and home for sex, it is that serious for me. My wife doesn't care she told me that and I live in a home but there is a great deal of loneliness.

A-59: I just reread your post from last month, and all I can say is I feel you. I recently had a consultation at a Men's sexual health clinic, and was given a souundwave test. 20+ yrs dealing w/this, & out of DOZENS of drs (including 1 Urologist) had NEVER been offered anything like this any more. WTF?!! I feel that the medical community (including my own mental health community!) has done a great disservice to and has generally failed men suffering from ED. anyway the eval revealed VERY POOR blood flow down there (big shock), but supporters of this therapy claim ED can be reversed in as little as 6 sessions, reportedly promoting new capillary growth. We'll see, but was wondering if any other guys on here are familier w/the procedure.
