This is a complicated situation. I had been dating someone for a while( a few years). He had some issues with ED but I never said anything. I never wanted to bring up the topic or be hurtful. I thought that perhaps it was a temporary thing that may go away on its own when he became more comfortable. Our sex life was wonderful when we did have sex....fireworks. Over time, I noticed that we stopped having sex as much. He still never brought up the subject and neither did I ,knowing that sometimes men have difficulties discussing these types of things. Meanwhile, I did research trying to figure out the root cause of ED and trying to find a way to broach the subject with him. I am so in love with him that when I found out that it can mean that something is wrong with a man's cardiovascular system, I worried. Well, he broke up with me. I never knew why. Then he told me that when it comes to being sexual with a woman, he gets scared and can't have an erection and that he never really feels a need for sex. Yes, I did initiate sex most of thetime but he initiated on occasion as well.He seemed to start making excuses so that he would not have to be alone with me. i started to believe that I was no longer turning him on. It became a vicious cycle. I assume that is why he broke up with me.He also told me that he has a desire to cheat on me and women in his past however, the ED has been a continuing problem in all his past relationships. I still love him very much and was wondering if anyone had some answers to my questions which are 1)Can ED be caused by childhood sexual abuse? 2) have you ever pushed a woman away because you were afraid that your lack of performance would be a deal breaker? 3)have you ever tried to compensate for your ED by jumping from woman to woman? I wish eh would have been honest with me from the beginning, I would not have left him, I would have tried to be supportive, as supportive as I was even when I didn't know what was going on.

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

It sounds like he is unwilling to help himself and has no desire to do so. If that's the case, it may be better to look for someone else who cares about himself enough to discuss his problems with his family doctor.
Good Luck!
