I have to leave soon, but will get back to this later. Grace was a legendary voice from my childhood, immediately recognizable.

I remember hearing White Rabbit and Somebody to Love sometime in the late 60's-early 70's. Her voice was compelling. I read a book she wrote, an autobiography. She was there in the San Francisco Haight-Ashbury music scene, she knew The Grateful Dead, met Jim Morrison. From Jefferson Airplane to later Jefferson Starship her voice was the basis for some memorable songs.

Her voice had this strong power. I felt it made people stand up and notice. It had a powerful affect on me.
Female vocalists at the time were folksy, Joan Baez had a strong voice too, but mostly it seemed that Grace was more than the norm then. If she were to come into the music scene now, I think that she would have a powerful presence, she is timeless.
