A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.

I haven't experienced any bloating until last weekend and it's like I'm pregnant or something, starting under my breasts all the way to my incision. Is this normal to have this type bloating so late in the game? Feels like even my underwear is cutting off my circulation.

I wear and estrogen patch and don't have any menopausal symptoms, but I did read on hystersisters out of the blue bloating is normal.

Any suggestions?

I had bloating and swelling a long time. Up until about 5-6 months. Usually by then though, it was late in the evening.

Are you on your feet alot? Or physically moving alot, that always made me swell.

This is my 6th week back at work, though I have been working more hours. The fatigue is worse and I have a ravenous appetite this week, like PMS.

My swelling seems to go down in the evening, but when I wake up, it's swelly belly all over again.

Should we wear something tight to control our tummies, and keep them from swelling - or is that a bad idea???

I am still a little swollen my TAH was oct 22. I was on the patch for the 1st 4 weeks and it made me swell more especially my breast.... but I had to stop the patch cause of that and the headaches, and crying... on the 1st day of the patch.... but since I quit the patch I have tried the bi identical... and now I have all kinda of symptoms.... hot flashes, chills, and aches and pains.. feel like I have the flu all the time... have you tried any other kind of hormones replacement? and what type of patch mine was the Vivelle....the lowest one?

oh yeah my incision gets really sore when the weather changes and living in tx that is almost everyday... lol
