Hysterectomy Support Group
A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.
I used a belly band for many weeks to help support my stomach. It was a wonder and helped significantly. Ask your doctor for one.
I got kind of down too but from the loss of my ability to have kids. But I guess that wouldn't have happened anyway with all that was wrong.
Rest and eat well but in small meals. Use the support of a belly band if you have one. Use a pillow for your abs too. I hugged a pillow for a month or more.
Once all the stitches come out, it feels better. Mine did.
Take care and we will check in often.
Been there!!!
