Hysterectomy Support Group
A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.
I had my total hysterectomy August 25th. It was done laproscopically and then because of so many benign growths and fibroids etc they also had to do some work vaginally. The surgery lasted 1 and a half hours longer than planned and I lost 1200 cc blood.
I naturally am hyper. I teach karate full time and psychologically was not prepared to be as fatigued as I am. Don't feel like I am having any complications and so relieved that there was no Cancer involved but this fatigue is really getting to me.
Has anyone tried any supplements to buld back up energy or found any food groups assisted?
I have to keep reminding myself it has only been 10 days since surgery but it is really hard for me to relax and stay put.
I keep wanting to drive , which I have done, just made sure I had not taken lortab. But going shopping just wears me out!
Not sure what I am asking here, just that I feel mentally ready to get back to work but there is no way I can actually teach yet. I haven't tried to work out yet.

Don't go back to work too soon. i went back too soon and regret it. I just take alot of naps if poss. Just take it easy and don't push things to fast. You have to let your body recover.
