Hysterectomy Support Group
A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.
don't lose contact and maybe(hoping) after you can show him you are still the same person.
If you have no one to help you, is there a visiting nurse to come to your home after? Do you have a close friend or relative? Find out if there is a local group (volunteers maybe) who can help after a surgery.
Maybe your pastor or priest can direct you to some support.
Keep us posted. I check in frequently.
Take care.

Do you care to share why you are having this surgery that is seldom necessary?
I was 49 when I had one and if I'd known then what I know now, I would have run "like a bat out of hell" when my gyn told me I needed one. He should have removed the benign growth and nothing else. That's what they do for growths on other body parts.
