Hysterectomy Support Group
A hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, usually done by a gynecologist. Hysterectomy may be total (removing the body and cervix of the uterus) or partial (also called supra-cervical). Although there are conservative alternatives, hysterectomy is performed for uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, pelvic relaxation, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, and cancer.
I am 26 years old, back in September of 2012, I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer. Two days after my birthday, in October, I had a full hysterectomy. Right after I didn't take the hormones because I am not really into taking pills.
After about 2 months I (meaning most of the people around me) started noticing some changes in my mood and general disposition. I started taking Premerin (sp) It was working for a while. Now lately I am starting to feel like I am losing control of myself. I know even see what I am doing. I am angry all the time and take it out on my fiance and I know he doesn't deserve it.
It is really very scary for me. I have sought counseling and even spoken with my Dr.
Nothing is helping me as of yet.
How do i deal with myself and when can i expect this to be over.?

I wasn't getting enough estrogen for my mood. Once I increased my dosage, the depression slowly lifted and the other symptoms improved too. Also, hormone replacement is very much trial and error so Premarin just may not work very well for you or you need a higher dose. There are many other options out there (pills, patches, gels, rings). Being so young, you probably need the maximum dose or more.
