It's a little scary to me to think that steroids are keeping your heart pumping adequately.
Thyroid hormone doesn't have the side effects that steroids do. In fact,when thyroid hormone is taken in the proper doses, there are no side effects whatsoever.
What drug can make that claim?

My wife thinks I'm obsessed with taking my blood pressure because every time I start feeling bad I'll take it to make sure its ok, and usually my HR is fine. Just every now and then it drops below 60, and seeing 53 this morning kind of shocked me until I discovered it could be a hypo symptom. My resting HR is usually between 65 and 75.
With adequate thyroid levels...that can be helped.
But you saying you pass out it even more weird. Last year, I caught a bad Charlie horse in my leg, and got up to walk it off. Next thing I know my wife is over me screaming to wake up, and I'm laying in a pool of blood. I passed out and split my chin open on the foot board of the bed on the way down.
I remember when the cramp hit, I was straining real hard, so I'm sure I wasn't breathing too well when it happened. The last 2 years have been rough!
