What are your lab numbers? Do you need more medication?
Given that you are female and "of the age", have you gotten your other hormones checked?
Hormones are powerful and you are taking a thyroid hormone, so you know.... maybe check them out...

My doctor says it's "not necessary" to get my hormones checked. My endo said "your hormones have nothing to do with it". I am in the process of finding a different doctor. Thanks

It's so very frustrating! I know... just found a new endo who goes on symptoms and Free T's, not TSH!. Hallelujah, I think he's doctor #8 and I didn't even want an endo, just someone that would listen to me.
Got my results back and I need a little estrogen. They had to increase my Armour because my Free's were so low, but also the estrogen will lower it too. Am on the bottom for testosterone also, but will only do that after to see where I'm at after an increase from 120 to 180 for the Armour and 1 mg for the estradiol.
It's been 5 years from dx, but I am hopeful.

I made an appt. with my MD for Thursday. I am going to BEG him for some hormones. I quit taking the steroids 3 days ago, & already feel a bit better. My joints are starting to ache pretty bad, but I'd rather feel physical pain than emotional pain. I am convinced the steroids made my depression worse.

YIKES! IT'S NOT NECESSARY!! YIKES! The endo is stupid saying, "your HORMONES have nothing to do with it." Is his degree real!!! Did he study anatomy!!

The Bible says the body works like a "Symphony" meaning it ALL works together. If something is going wrong in one area, it could be affecting another area. ALL hormones work together such each other for the body to function properly, the Amino acids and Catecholamines ALL work together with the thyroid, the pituitary also.

You're doing the right thing - finding another doctor. This one sounds clueless!

I'm so sorry. Problems with the endocrine system is soooo hard! Have you thought about taking GABA? My daughter who loves studying the brain suggested it for me and it does seem to help with the anxiety as soon as you start dissolving it in the mouth.

I also take evening primrose oil which is really good for calming the emotions. I learned early on about it when my oldest girls started puberty, but just recently started taking it myself.

Sorry forgot to mention that when I was on thyroid medicine I had a hard time with bladder control.

I have finally found a doctor that is going to help me figure out why I have such adverse reactions to the thyroid meds. One of which is when I take any of the thyroid medicines I would become so tired and fall asleep. The problem I have now is if I don't take thyroid medicine I am wound up too much.

What I ended up doing is over time if I noticed a symptom that I was having I would write it down. When I finally went to my GP, not an endo. she was so pleased to have everything spelled out. I told her I will not go to an endo. since they just told me it is not from the medicine and send me on my way. It is so relieving to have someone who is trying now to understand my particular situation and willing to help me.

Well, my doctor prescribed me a low dose premarin. I was wondering how long to give it to work? I did a search on my former endo, & he has been in ALOT of different places for no older than he is. There is a reason he ended up in Western Nebraska lol. They tested my thyroid, & said it is "normal"...whatever that means. I will post the results as soon as I can get them online.
