My doctor called me on Saturday--the 14th, to give me the results of my blood work. He didn't tell me anything that I didn't already suspect. My levels have been in that "grey area" for about 10 years. Not so bad that I needed meds (thought most docs) but something to keep an eye on. Well, after ruling out everything else, I have now been diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I was given a prescription for Levothyroxine--25 mcg. Took my first pill this morning (Sunday-May 15th). When I read the instructions on how to take the pill, I nearly vomitted. First, I have only very recently been able to drink plain water without throwing it up immediately. As a child, teen & young adult I could never drink large amounts of water, (i.e. ONE full glass was A LOT for me to handle). Now I can tolerate a glass or small bottle of water over the course of an hour or two. Taking this pill first thing in the morning on an empty stomach with "plenty of water", makes my insides churn.
I'd like to know what others have tried if they have had the same problem with the water and empty stomach issue.
Also, any negative side effects? (I also suffer from chronic migraines & I'm very concerned about any increase in head pain.)
