I have this problem too - and it's getting more noticable (I'm on Armour and Levoxyl). It's likely to be my not getting enough T3 (as I suspect is happening with you). You should get a free t3 and free t4 blood test. I tell this to so many people, but you should also get your vit. D and ferritin levels checked since, when they are low, the thyroid meds have difficulty getting aborbed.

Finally, yes, for those people who found their optimum range, this depression was lifted. I'm with you. I can hardly recognize myself. I was always in the vibrancy of life. This is a nasty "condition" but, while hard to believe right now, you can return to the person you know yourself to be. Keep the hope and take the steps needed to ensure you get to the optimum dose for your T4 and T3. If you come across and doctors unwilling to get you there, then....find another doctor. We don't have time to dilly dally.

Thanks for replying. I am going to get my levels checked next week. I am starting to suspect my level is too low. Do you know if a person has just low thyroid function and goes on synthroid if the thyroid stops working altogether? Meaning it is now relying on just the medication?

i found when i was on 75mcg of synthroid i was very cold but now im on 88mcg and i feel sick, i have hair lost, no enger, and I'm very tired. I go to get my blood tested on april the 4th and I got good feeling ill be up again :(

Im in the same boat, except Im on a low dose of synthroid... I went to my family doc on Thursday and talked with him about my moods lately. Im already on Celexa for depression (I was put on celexa at the same time I was diagnosed with hypothyroid) and he upped my doseage of celexa to see if that helps my moods and energy levels. Ive read several articles about hypothroid and depression and how they are interconnected. Most people who have hypothroid also have depression. Thats actually how I found out I was hypo.... I went in for a doc visit for depression and found out I was hypo. We are all here for you though!

I am newly diagnosed with hypothyroidism (as well as early menopause...I'm only 38) and just started taking synthroid. Tonight was an emotional breaking point for me. After reading this thread, it gives me hope that maybe this means the synthroid is starting to work.
