Hypothyroidism Support Group
Hypothyroidism is the disease state caused by insufficient production of thyrohormone by the thyroid gland. There are several distinct causes for chronic hypothyroidism, the most common being Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism following radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism. Advanced hypothyroidism may cause severe complications, the most serious one of which is...

My TSH test was at 5.91. I have been treated with Armour Thyroid.
In my research I have found: Ashwagandha Google: Ashwagandha thyroid. Very interesting. I am taking it with my Armour in powder form. It is inexpensive and can be found at a good herbal company either online or in town. I am hoping that by my next TSH test the use of it shows up as I have only been on the Armour for less than a month.
The lack of energy and depression among other symptoms was so back I felt suicidal. I am feeling a bit better as of late. I think my improvement is mainly due to taking Sam e (google it if you haven't heard of it). But it could be the combination of all three: Thyroid, Ashagandha, and Sam e.
It might be a blessing in disguise that you are not put on meds.
keep in mind the everything should be looked at as a whole:
I got rid of everything that could be harming me as far as what I put into my body:
No processed sugar
No alcohol
No caffeine
No cigarettes
No processed foods
No preservatives
Good organic foods (too expensive? Yeah maybe high in short sight, but our society system is designed to get us sick and preventative measures will save us thousands if not hundreds of thousand by not having to be a slave to disease, drug companies, medical bills, etc.

I really hope this helps in any way. This disease and symptoms are horrible and confusing. But I really believe that if the body is given what it needs to heal itself it will. Oh, and Ashwagandha is great for the adrenal system as well, which, due to stress, most of us must have some type of fatigue and the adrenals go hand and hand with the thyroid gland, not to mention the symptoms parallel one another.
All the best to you!
I'm not feeling suicidal...but I am feeling completely pushed down. I've had depression before on account of bullying and subsequent self esteem issues. I dealt with that through hard work and determination. But this depression is completely different. It's not brought on my negative thoughts...the meltdowns are completely suddenly and without incident. It's a very bizarre feeling for me. I feel very helpless.
The fatigue levels vary from one day to the next. Yesterday was...ok. Today, my body felt dead weight heavy. I walked around the office like a zombie. I've never felt so completely exhausted.

Find a good GP...and take your hard copy tests with you. Discuss your symptoms. In subclinical hypothyroidism..labs don't tell the whole tale. You need a full evaluation...and you should be treated.
You need to go by your Free's not you totals. Free's measure what's actually available for use by your body. The other does not.
