I'm pretty new at all this. Although I've been on Levothytoxine for a few years my TSH (which was all that was done) always stayed about the same, around 0.60. Then after being ill over the winter my TSH dropped to 0.05 and my Internist dropped my pill from 100 to .88. My TSH went up to 0.35 for a few weeks then back down to 0.05 again so he dropped my pill to 0.075. After reading posts here I requested the Free T3 and FreeT4 test.
Latest results were: TSH. 0.12. Range. 0.30 - 5.00
FT4. 1.8. Range. O.7 - 2.0
FT3. 2.8. Range. 2.3 - 4.2
Doctor says to stay on the 0.075. Someone else on this ite who seems to know this stuff really well says I should go up to at least the .088 because the FT3 is too low. My Doc says he's not concerned with that level and doesn't want to change it.
Looking for more advise as I'm totally confused. By the way I have lost o much weight (down to 113 lbs) due to other illness (Meniere's)
and can't seem to gain a pound.

You may ask for a T3 drug (Cytomel). Your Free T3 is low...
I am guessing you don't feel well or you wouldn't have asked....The T3 will most likely not help you put on weight...
Levo is a T4 drug and will convert to T3(the active hormone). Many of us don't convert well and will need some T3 too.
The TSH was only discovered in 1973, prior to doctors treated for symptoms. There are too many text book docs that don't listen and I hope that you will have an understanding and compassionate doctor to help you with your symptoms.
