Hypothyroidism Support Group
Hypothyroidism is the disease state caused by insufficient production of thyrohormone by the thyroid gland. There are several distinct causes for chronic hypothyroidism, the most common being Hashimoto's thyroiditis and hypothyroidism following radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism. Advanced hypothyroidism may cause severe complications, the most serious one of which is...

Seems like no matter when it was in my cycle I am low...I am confused as to why my doctor didnt mention this. I am on birth control pills could this be why its so low?
I remembered that you said you would get your results soon, and I am glad you posted them. All these ranges and numbers look way too advanced for me as I am new to all of this thyroid mess also. I feel the same symptoms as you do and am trying to work on natural supplements to heal the body before I retest maybe sometime in April or May. Stressful things have occurred for me, so I have not been able to concentrate on my health lately. But I am definitely going to hit coconut, kelp, B12, and exercise and see if that helps regulate my thyroid.
I would think that since you are on birth control pills, it would alter your progesterone levels.
One other thing... are your cholesterol ranges off? LDL, HDL, total cholesterol, triglycerides, etc.? Mine definitely are and that it supposed to be related to hypothyroidism.
Have you tried asking pharmacists about these ranges and levels? I would think they would know.... It is annoying how doctors are not as clear as they should be.
Hopefully, some members can offer some insight regarding your results because I have A LOT to learn, too. :)
My brother in law is a pharmacist. I left him a detailed voice message hopefully he calls me back soon.
Oh and ps..I love Doxies too..I have a 10 year old doxie mix :)
That's awesome that your brother-in-law is a pharmacist. Hopefully, he has some good advice for you.
Yes, it DEFINTITELY sucks how we are trying to do the research ourselves. To make matters worse, my mom is currently suffering from painful PAINFUL kidney stones. From what I have heard, they are not deadly, just incredibly painful, and I have tried asking for advice on the kidney support group, but the members there do not respond as often as members here do -- probably because they are in pain themselves! So my energy is totally zapped from all the research I am doing for her, too. Life is hard sometimes.
On a brighter note, though, I love doxies, too! Animals, I have found first-hand, are very theraputic. :) Hug your doxie mix; I am sure he/she will make you feel better. :)
My family has a large history with kidney stones. My dad gets them all the time. They are very painful. My uncle is having a procedure done soon to have some removed that won't pass on their own in a week or so. They do suck! What has your mom tried and what does her doctor say?
I did speak to my brother in law in detail about everything last night. He basically explained to me what everything does and gave me lots of notes that I haven't had time to read yet. He wasn't sure about my estrogen level so I called my gyno this morning and left her a message...she hasnt called me back yet. He was going to do further research and get back to me if he finds anything else. He told me that my labs say that "I have issues" haha...everyone is a comic! He said that he believes that I feel like crap but that at the time when the "snapshot" as he puts it of my levels were taken I probably wasn't feeling as bad but that our levels fluctuate a lot especially at the beginning of the disease. He said that doctors should take the labs as just a simple snapshot like if you take a picture of a house and a bird isnt in that picture that doesnt mean that a bird has never been there or will never be there its just that it wasnt there when you took the picture. He said that I should try to get my doctor to take labs right when I feel really bad.....but he understands how difficult that would be to squeeze myself in for blood work. So he knows that is not realistic but he understands the importance of taking the blood work at the RIGHT time! So yea..thats it for now..
Hopefully other members can offer me more insight with their personal experiences.
