I have always enjoyed salty foods but over the past few years I really crave them all the time. Could it have something to do with my adrenal glands? Does anyone else experience this?

I have this constantly! that and SUGAR!

I've eaten sugar and salt out of the bowl (not kidding). This is what raised a red flag with my doc. That, and the hitting floor after passing out thing - it can be a sign of adrenal issues.

I'm currently undergoing testing.

If you suspect it, it's not a bad idea to have it tested. Just MHO.

MButterfly, please let me know the results of your testing. i have an endocrinologist but she referred me back to my family doctor. I'm hypothyroid, and am having hyperparathyroidism symtoms as well as the salt craving. She won't refer me back to my endocrinologist until my calcium levels are even higher. My endocrinologist won't see me without the referral. :( I'm tested every three months. I know that my endocrinologist would listen to me.

Sugar and salt cravings are the first tell tale sign that my adrenals are crashing again, as they have a few times.

Helerown, I actually ate a whole box of cakemix (not a cake, but the mix) once. Is that the kind of cravings you mean? Or can it be more subtle?
